FALABELLA FRIENDS
One of my closest friends is Kamila Lewis who owns the Kinsky sport-horse stud in Kent. The Kinsky is a Rare Warmblood Sporthorse from the Czech Republic, which is frequently found in cremello, palomino and buckskin. The Kinsky horse is rare like the Falabella as there are only around 1000 in the world, and the most prized are the ‘Golden’ horses. Kamila keeps 50 or so at her stud in Kent and retains another breeding herd in the Czech Republic. In 2005 she went to Argentina and purchased eight Falabellas from the ranch in the same colours as her Kinsky horses. They and their foals will be appearing on: : www.kinskyhorses.com

In 2005 we were extremely lucky to meet the Swedish equine photographer Marie Bushill (www.mariebushill.com) who has become a good friend. Marie is a regular visitor to our stud on sunny days and has taken some fantastic photos for us, some of which appear on this site. She is a freelance who does work for Brown Trout, the American calendar company and her picture of EQUULEUS KASHMIR appears in Marie’s 2007 calendar ‘The Horse’, which is now available – (www.browntrout.com)

Debbie and Peter Carley came to our aid with their wonderful pure psyllium product ‘Gut cleanse’ when a few of our horses developed sand impaction colics this year. They also breed the most wonderful Welsh Cobs – www.thunderbrook.co.uk
We were thrilled to hear that Overa Stud were opening a saddlery at Larling, just a few miles from us. It is huge, and stocks just about everything a horsey person could ever want. www.overafarmstud.co.uk
Lastly I would like to take this opportunity to thank a dear friend – Maria Luisa de Falabella for her patience and assistance over the years.
As I have already mentioned, my partner is Ray Mumford, the airbrush artist. Some of you may remember his appearance on Larry Grayson’s Generation Game and various other TV programmes. He is probably most famous for his ‘car art’, a lot of which can be seen on www.raymumford.co.uk. Ray’s first love was horses, and he won many awards for his horse paintings and drawings as a child. On the links page is a vehicle Ray titled ‘Arcadia’. Anyone visiting the Beatle Museum in Liverpool will be greeted by Ray’s LIFE-SIZE painting of ‘the fab four’ which we hear is still in pride of place some twenty years on. Ray did a lot of work for the rock/pop world in the 70’s and 80’s including designing the artwork for Led Zeppelin’s Boeing!
